The 2010 Celebration dinner was held in May.  The 2011 Celebration dinner will be held in the Spring, date is TBD.

On Saturday, May 8, 2010 Galilee UMC, in Sterling, VA hosted the HCW African Programs Partnership Celebration Dinner.  It was an evening of celebration, fellowship and music performed by the Woodlawn UMC Choir.  Missioners and volunteers shared  experiences and memories.  The new Mercy Hospital and Child Rescue Centre Video was shown for the first time, thanks to Charlie Kendal for all his work on the beautiful video.  The Bo-Tique was set up for people to purchase souvineers from Sierra Leone, and there was a wall of pictures that represented Mercy Hospital and the Child Rescue Centre. 

During the celebration dinner, attendees had the opportunity to assemble layette kits for new mothers at Mercy Hospital.  Thansk to all the help we were able to put together about 150 kits to send to Mercy Hospital with the May UMVIM team. 

Each Layette kit contain the following items:
1 one gallon zip lock bag
2 cloth diapers
2 shirts or 2 one-piece body suits
2 baby washcloths
2 diaper pins
1 receiving blanket
