Child Rescue Centre

Programs

The Child Rescue Centre provides holistic programs addressing children’s intellectual, emotional, physical, and spiritual needs

Residential Program
Children who were once living on the streets without adult supervision, and often without adequate food, water, and shelter now live in community with other children and full-time adult care.  They are fed nutritious meals, receive regular healthcare, attend school and church, and receive one-on-one and group counseling to address war and poverty-related trauma.  Once a child has been taken into the residential program he/she remains in the program at least until he/she graduates from post-secondary education (university or vocational training program).

Child Support Program
Children in this program receive healthcare, as well as educational expenses, including tuition, books, back packs, shoes and uniforms.  These children have guardians with whom they live, but struggle to afford the costs necessary to go to school.  The Child Support Program provides families hope for the future.

Foster Care Program
Children who were once homeless have been placed into loving, Christian homes.  They receive healthcare, education expenses to include tuition, books, back packs, shoes, and uniforms, and stipends for food and clothing.

Post Secondary Education Program
Children who have graduated from the Residential Program and some from the Child Support Program are currently enrolled in post-secondary education.  Some students have entered into university-level education in Sierra Leone in courses of study including: medicine, engineering, information technology, journalism, education, and the arts.  Other students are now living in the community and pursuing vocational training in tailoring and needlework, food preparation, and community health nursing.  The Post-Secondary Education Program provides tuition, books, healthcare, transportation, and general living expenses to support these future leaders in their pursuit of higher education.
