After receiving CRC family strengthening services, 7 families with children were successfully released from care in 2024 with no further need for services!

​Transition to Family Care Services: HCW Firmly Rooted Family Team & the Transition Coaching Department 

13,000 Patients Served at Mercy Hospital regardless of ability to pay - Medical and nutrition services - an upstream orphan prevention strategy.

Mercy Outreach - 8,000 mothers and babies served in outreach services to villages. 

Maternal Health is an upstream orphan prevention strategy.

Training 170 social workers and 24 client organizations, leadership in 1 national coalition and 3 international think-tanks for care reform advocacy.

17,000 people - Economic Empowerment with job skills, financial literacy, family finance, community enterprise, infrastructure improvements, workshops, scholarships, and micro loans. 

Economic resilience is an upstream orphan prevention strategy!

51 local teachers trained entirely by the Teachers Learning Collaborative 8 Master Teachers - a three year project impacting 5,000 students. Education is a child resiliency strategy.

Adequate health systems with continuity of care in poor communities is an orphan prevention strategy.

HCW's Together for Global Health network reaches providers serving in 23 countries, held 12 international enrichment sessions with NGOs every year since its inception, with educational and informational presentations from medical professionals, government agencies, and in-country providers. Participating in collaborative global networks strengthens local health systems.

With TGH emergency medical assistance fund and TGH teamwork - a child traveled to India for heart surgery in 2024.


TGH will train over 500 midwives and birth practitioners and master trainers in Sierra Leone, West Africa. (100 in 2024 - 100 in 2025, 100 in 2026, 100 in 2027, 100 in 2028.)

12 training sessions were held on ethical mission deployment practices. 1 UMC conference presentation on reforming orphan mission using our church conversation toolkits. 1 church distributed HCW "creating family resilience through play" guidebook to its congregants on Strong Family Sunday. ​1 church utilized HCW's "ONE TWENTY-SEVEN" bible study for Advent study.

4 churches participated in Strong Family Sunday with the Strong Family For Every Child Initiative celebrating family care for every child, everywhere, in foster care, kinship care, and birth families. 

In 2024, HCW continued to provide resources for church engagement in meaningful and ethical child-centered mission and family care advocacy.
