All donations that are designated for a specific purpose, when received and accepted by HCW, are utilized for the designated purpose. HCW raises money to be applied to both programs and operations, including general administration, management and fundraising costs, just as the General Board of Global Ministries of the United Methodist Church does. Both GBGM and HCW raise money specifically designated for programs and raise money that is permitted to be utilized for organization operations.
We raise funds for all the work we do, and it is the generosity of donors to general HCW activities and greatest needs that allow us to function as your philanthropic partner. It is the generosity of both general HCW activities donors and designated campaign donors that allow us to provide assistance to local programs in poor communities all across the globe. You can be assured that when donations come through the Advance to be applied to specific programs, or through HCW to be applied to specific programs, administrative and fundraising costs are excluded from those donations, and 100% of the designated funds will be utilized to support programs.
Family Empowerment Advocacy: FEA and FEAP donations are designated donations to support child protection, child reintegration, and family strengthening in SubSaharan Africa. HCW does not deduct our administrative, management or fundraising costs from designated donations. 100% of your donation goes to the designated program and partner organization associated with the advocacy campaign underwritten by our dedicated donors. FEA supports the work of the Child Reintegration Centre in Bo, Sierra Leone and FEAP supports the work of the Child and Family Permanency Centre in Freetown, Sierra Leone.
