Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress... James 1:27
Following the success of the 2-day workshop on Family Reintegration Practices held in Bo at the CRC, despite the impact of Covid requiring most of the prep work to be done remotely and allowing only one HCW staffer to travel and assist - Helping Children Worldwide, and The Child Reintegration Centre received a surprising request. We were invited by the Sierra Leone government to produce a 5- day conference for all children's homes and child welfare organizations licensed by the government As Soon As Possible! CRC, HCW and 1MillionHome collaborated on the presentation the first Global Rising Tides Conference held in October of 2021. In attendance were more than 50 individuals, including representatives from other African nations, and INGOs supporting orphanages in multiple countries.
From there, the staff of the CRC Transition Coaching and Mentoring Department and the Child Reintegration Family Strengthening and Case Management Team have taken the ball and run! Lead Consultant, David T. Musa has become an acknowledged expert in presenting the case for change to NGO leadership, government officials, and the press. Please read his story below published in the HCW Empower Magazine.
Conferences and Workshops have been held in multiple locations and two countries. Please check out our blog for continuing stories on the impact of Rising Tides in bringing together the people most likely to engage in problem-solving to have important and difficult conversations to support change and a Rising Tide of care to lift up the most vulnerable!
