Home away from home in Sierra Leone
For nearly 12 years, mission teams traveling to Bo, Sierra Leone have enjoyed staying at the Missionary Training Centre, or MTC, for short. The MTC was built in proximity to the Child Reintegration Centre and Mercy Hospital in order to make it an ideal place for visitors to serve at those facilities, or support other ministries and global development projects in the vicinity. The MTC provides comfortable and affordable accommodations, with dorm-style rooms, three apartments, an air-conditioned sitting room and an outdoor gazebo, known as the Peace Hut.
Laundry, transportation, and security services are provided, as well as concierge services to meet the special needs of guests. The MTC serves breakfast, lunch and dinner in a family-style setting prepared by the small, dedicated staff led by Caretaker Jinnah Lassi, combining local fare with offerings that suit less adventurous palates. MTC guests praise the quality of meals prepared by Rosa and the MTC cooking staff as a highlight of their stay
