Focus Areas: TGSF is focused on healthcare needs of the population and specifically women and children; we want to expand into healthcare education, nutrition, vaccinations and better hygiene through clean water access and latrines. Program Summary: TGSF provides healthcare services and medicine addressing the healthcare needs of 15 communities in the Grand Saline area of Haiti. We see over 600 patients monthly and are working to transform access to clean water and sanitation which will reduce many of the diseases caused by consuming, bathing and cooking with polluted water. Orphan & Vulnerable Children: HealeyIRF is currently supporting St. Mary’s-Fatima House Interim Care Center at River #2. Under the watchful eyes of Sisters Agatha and Felicia, 15 girls and 8 boys are now calling St. Mary’s-Fatima ICC home. We are providing the children shelter, food and education. A safe and nurturing environment for the children is our number one priority. Disaster Relief & Recovery: Providing immediate relief through food, blankets, clothing, and cash funds, our goal is to uplift affected communities and help them get back on their feet for the long-term. To increase our impact, along with Caritas Freetown, Tzu Chi Foundation, and Lanyi Foundation a consortium was formed, Partnering to Serve Humanity, which allows us to better coordinate our resources and provide a more effective response. Organization: Miracle of Help
Country: Sierra Leone Year Established: 2018 Mission: Acting in accordance with the wishes of local communities, to bring health care to rural areas in need, in conjunction with establishing businesses, skills training, and interface with government officials. Vision: To have our project be a template for future projects to help create healthier and more prosperous communities across rural Sierra Leone. Focus Areas: Our immediate goal is to build an MCHP in Ngolahun, providing pre- and post-natal care to women and children under five, but we feel that the necessary infrastructure must be in place for it to succeed in the long term. We would like to expand into health care for the men and boys of the community as well. Program Summary: We refurbished a clinic in Ngolahun, in eastern Sierra Leone, and we run monthly clinics where we treat 200 - 300 people in three days with two doctors and two lab techs. We have also built a guest house for their visits. We have provided scholarships for a doctor, a nurse, and a midwife, who will give service back to the clinic. We built a workshop in Kenema to house the businesses that will support the hospital, including a restaurant that is starting to turn a profit. We have also installed wells, with storage tanks and solar pumps, in seven villages.
