Members of the Mercy Hospital staff routinely visit a circuit of villages surrounding Bo to conduct clinics, including child nutrition, prenatal care and postnatal care. These photos are from an outreach to Manguama village, where the staff saw hundreds of mothers and their babies who are enrolled in the nutritional care program. The babies are weighed and prescribed treatment if they are underweight.
The Child Rescue Centre has just launched bi-monthly, school notes quizzes on the first and last Friday of each month. Students are quizzed on their school notes by CRC staff members to ensure that they are reading and retaining their notes on a regular basis. They review their notes every day after school to prepare for this (and of course, to study). Students with perfect scores get stickers, which is more motivating than you might imagine!
Check out these photo of the progress on Mercy Hospital's operating room wing! Construction is scheduled to be completed by early summer. We will keep you posted!
