After reviewing applications, obtaining West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) scores, and conducting interviews, 12 students from the FEA program have been selected to obtain Promise Scholarships to attend University or Technical/Vocational School. This scholarship will cover tuition, learning materials, and a travel stipend if the student lives far away from their school.
Promise Scholars with the CRC Staff and their families. This class of Promise Scholars will be pursing degrees in accounting and finance, public health, political science, nutrition, health education, medical school, and nursing.
The ceremony was opened by a short praise and worship songs backed up by an opening prayer from the Ndoinje family. Rosa, the Post-Secondary Education Coordinator, welcomed everyone who attended the ceremony and individual introduction of staff members was done. Rev Olivia, the CRC Director, made a short statement about the CRC Program, and encouraged parents/families to be very vigilant over their children. Going to university is a big step for students everywhere in the world, and she encouraged parents to be attentive to type of friends their children will be moving around with in their course of study. Rosa reminded the scholars that this was a big opportunity for them, and to work hard in their studies so they do not lose their scholarship. She encouraged the students to remember that they were an ambassador for CRC and their family in their various institutions of study. She also made it known to the parents/families that it is their sole responsibility to check on their children for their grades and later inform the office about it.
Mr. Ndoinji, pictured above with his daughter, expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation for the good work CRC and HCW are doing. He prayed that God Almighty will continue to guide and protect the children as they are pursuing their studies. He ended by saying big thanks and encouraged others parents to be very observant for their children.
