Strengthening Families and Children's Dan Hope Offers Training to CRC, Princess Promise and Child and Family Permanency Services
Building on training begun in 2021, Strengthening Families and Children's Dan Hope returned to Sierra Leone in July, to spend one week working intensively with Case Management Supervisor George Kulanda, Deborah Kanneh and Edward Lavalie to assist the leadership team with developing new processes and strategies for better meeting the needs of families in the CRC program; empowering them toward self-sustainable independence, and putting systems in place to take in the most vulnerable and at-risk children in the community and see them safely and permanently home.
After spending one week with the CRC case management leadership team, Dan accompanied George to the Child and Family Permanency Services facility in Wellington (Freetown). There he worked with case management leaders from CRC, CFPS, and CRC client organization, Princess Promise, offering skilled training in how to establish and run safe and effective emergency foster care services to children as preparation for reintegration into safe loving families. CRC and HCW's collaborative ethos is not just providing ways for the CRC to strengthen families and the communities in which they live, but also ways to empower other Sierra Leonean organizations so that vulnerable children and families can be better served across the entire country.
